Day 1.
Arrival to Tbilisi; meeting at the airport, accommodation at 3 star hotel.
Day 2. Tbilisi – the capital of Georgia
Visiting of Old city: Tour over the old city of Tbilisi, which stretches along the Mtkvari river within the ancient walls and citadels: Narikala Fortress (4th century), Metechi Church (13th century) and the statue of Vakhtang Gorgasali – the powerful king of the 5th century who founded the capital of Georgia in the city of Tbilisi, Anchiskhati Basilica (6th century); sulfur bath-houses renowned for centuries for their healing quality; Sioni cathedral, the central cathedral of Georgia where services are held by the archbishop of Georgia each Sunday; the oldest synagogue and the mosque, located close to each other; botanical garden, Statue of Mother of Georgia (“Kartlis Deda”) - the symbol of powerful and friendly Georgian nation; Shardeni – the leisure street for expats, Ethnography museum near the lake; walk on the Rustaveli Avenue – the main street of Tbilisi with its entertainment centers. Day 3. – Kakheti, Trip to Kaheti - the Georgian wine capital.
Arrival in Signagi - ancient city, also known as te City of Love, with stone-paved streets and the balconies in old - Georgian style, the inspection of fortress shielding wall and ancient church. Drive to Velistsikhe (farmers house): a) Making the Georgian bread – Lavash in special Georgian bakery (tone). b) Tasting of Georgian wine in local peasant’s house with Georgian wine Cellar c) Barbeque Georgian shashlik in the nature, d) Watch singers perform folk songs in Georgian national clothes, e) Music performed with the Accordion and Drums Dinner in open air. Visit King Erekle’s Palace- museum. Night in Telavi to gesthouse of local landowner where Georgian national kitchen with the wine and hospitality of local people will be demonstrated.
Day 4. trip to Alaverdi - the ancient monastery of XIIc which was tallest church in the Caucasus, and Ikalto monastery (12 c where famous Georgian writer and poet Shota Rustaveli got his education) Return to Tbilisi.
Day 5: Mtskheta, Gori Kutaisi.
Trip to Mtskheta - ancient capital of Georgia. The city and its architectural monuments are included in the World Cultural heritage of UNESCO. Visit the Church of Holy Cross (Jvari) built in 6th-7th cent. (Built at the conjunction of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers), a unique example of early Christian architecture which was built on the place where the first Christian cross in Georgia was erected; Svetitschoveli Cathedral (11th century) – the main church of Mtskheta and the pride of Georgia, the place where for the coronation and burial of the Georgian kings took place through centuries. Trip to Gori. Visit house-museum of Stalin, trip to an Uplistsikhe - fortress carved in a rock in the 6th century AD) – the work of early Georgian architectural style was aimed at building constructions harmonized with the surrounding landscape and such an approach was very often inspired by the natural beauty of Georgia’s environment. Day 6. Kutaisi-Borjomi-Bakuriani
Kutaisi (the second largest city of Georgia) - the soul of the Imereti province, was the capital of ancient Kolchis. You will find cold springs and delicate gardens and meet people of Imereti, well-known for their sense of humor, politeness and hospitality. Visit Bagrati Cathedral of 11th century and Gelati Monastery constructed in 12th century by King David- the Builder, visit old synagogue in Kutaisi (1880). The city of Borjomi - a source of world famous mineral water, visit local park with the springs of unique mineral waters. Overnight stay in Bakuriani..
Day 7 Bakuriani – Vardzia
A trip and sightseeing of a unique monument – “a city in the rock”, built in XII-XIII centuries. Vardzia has a great impressive history, life of many kings and queens passed during its building. Overnight stay in Bakuriani.
Day 8. Gudauri
Visit Ananuri fortress - an architectural complex of the 16th century with its towers, church by Zhinvali reservoir which offers unforgettable view on the way to Gudauri. Possible rafting on the river Aragvi in front of forest and cooking shashlik (shish kebab). Overnight stay in Gudauri – famous ski-resort.
Day 9. Kazbegi
Gorgeous Mount Kazbegi (2800m a.s.l. ) – an excellent ski-touring summit for experienced skiers with a descent from the plateau to the valley. The beauty of it will be in your memories forever. Way to an ancient monastery offers picturesque view with huge mountains and glaciers. Ride on the jeep Niva 4X4 with the driver to the top of the mountain towards Saint Trinity Church with scenic views. Possible the trip to the wonderful waterfall in The Daryal Gorge. Overnight in Tbilisi.
